Hey!
I think you're totally awesome. I absolutely love what you wear most of the time. I don't see people wearing those lovely stuff anywhere in Singapore. Mosty just the usual t-shirt shorts combi or they go berserk with their Taiwanese clothes. How much do you spend on clothes/shoes/fashion anyway? I mean clothes and stuff and be bought cheaply no problem without too much of a problem but bags and shoes just screams TACKY if they're not of a certain quality (and that usually means price, sadly). Coming from someone with a limited budget, I find it hard to get good bags and shoes for less than $50 popand mostly the things that catches my eye are towards the 100-200 range. So the big Q, how do you do it?
Love, xing
Why hello there xing : ) First of all, many thanks for taking the time to comment. Right, so where do I even begin now. Personally, I believe that it all boils down to your ownself. I would be lying if I say that I have never been tempted to buy something which is heavily priced.
The thing is, I am indecisive. Before I purchase anything, I would always weigh in my mind, the pros and cons of owning that item (it is pretty weird that my mind does this, considering many usually buy on impulse). Ninety-nine precent of the time, I would usually pass on owning that item. To make myself feel better, I would come up with as many reasons as possible as to why I believe I made the right decision (another weird thing my mind does). There's this excuse that I always give and that is, "I could find a similar piece for a much cheaper price". Believe it or not, my clothes (tops and bottoms) are between the range of SGD$1-15. Anything above SGD$15 I would consider and reconsider.
Regarding the shoes issue, if you were to browse through my entries, you would find that my shoes are mainly from two places. It is either purchased at Charles & Keith or over at City Square. While I do agree with you that finding a pair of fine shoes is hard, I do not believe in spending too much money on them (or on clothings and the likes). When I am on a hunt for shoes, I tend to be very fussy. If the details are there, but the colour is not to my liking, I would not purchase it. And but of course, I would not purchase a pair of shoes which is highly overpriced, even though I could afford it. To put it midly, self-control is essential. Onto the bag issue, I spend very little on bags. Most of the time, I use my hand-me-downs, vintage bags. Many a times too, I would borrow the many bags that my mum owns.
I certainly hope that my three length worth of paragraphs has benefitted you in a way or two. If what I have written is not what you had hoped for, I apologise. I certainly do not mind giving others an insight into my world of shopping but I am in no position to tell others how to shop or dress, how much they should spend or what they should avoid wearing. For I believe that sooner or later, you would finally realise what you really want and what you are truly looking for (hereby referring to clothings and the likes).
