Bejeweled neckline and cartoon prints

I contemplated on getting this dress as I thought it looked messy; note the bejeweled neckline and the colourful cartoon prints. But eventually my mum talked me into buying it saying that I will regret it if I didn’t. She also added saying, “The girls (on the dress) are so cute and they are not only on the front of the dress but at the back as well”. Indeed I agree that the cartoon girls (or ladies, whichever you prefer to call it) are too adorable and having them printed on both sides make it a “must buy”. So the dress came in three colours, and I chose these grey and black checkered prints over the pink and mustard ones. I tried it with my green, and then my turquoise tights but it didn’t look right. Had I have a pair of mustard tights, I would have worn it with this dress. Oh well, I guess my mustard pumps will do. And yes, they were not stolen. I just didn’t look hard enough. Thank you mum for finding them.

On another note,
Fabi’s latest post on Naca had me thinking that some people need to realize that wearing a Miss Selfridge’s dress (and other similar labels) doesn’t necessarily make you stylish. Some seem to worship brands and labels as if they are their Holy Grail of fashion. A note to these people; I have seen fellow bloggers looking completely chic in thrifted clothing. Well, I am definitely not implying that we should completely stop purchasing from Topshop (and etc) and to hit the thrift stores instead. I merely want them to realize that it doesn’t matter if you are wearing a hundred dollars dress or a two dollars dress because people can tell if and when you are trying to hard. Even if you wear a Zara dress, would people know? The tag is on the inside darling. We can’t see where you got it from. Well not unless if we have seen the dress you are wearing on the shop’s mannequin, or that you openly declare to everyone (with a tinge of arrogance), “This is a Zara dress okay”. Chill girl. I don't want your Zara dress. Na-uh.
