Years ago, plain white school girl's mary janes were really popular here. Many bought them and dyed the shoes according to their own preference. Needless to say, them shop owners caught up with the alarming increase in sales of the shoe which then lead to a rise of the price - by almost $2. My guy, instead of using dyes, used candle wax for the shoe. I wore it a lot and I like the responds people gave when I told them it's made from candle wax. I do still have the shoe but it has yet to be worn out.
